Every year thousands of people are attracted to the Network Marketing industry. Unfortunately, though many of them are gone in a year or in some cases a few months. The lure of the big bonus check, exotic vacations and other perks attract many of them, but it is not enough to keep them in the industry. Why does this happen so often? What contributes to such a high rate of attrition in the network marketing industry?
There are lots of reasons people give up on an MLM opportunity, but we have found that there are three major reasons that people initially never achieve any measure of success in in their network marketing career.

This is probably the mindset of 99% of new people in network marketing. The reality is that this industry is not easy at all! Network Marketing is a business and it takes time, dedication, a commitment to your personal success, and a desire to see others succeed more than your own success. Albert Einstein once said “The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.” The late great Zig Ziglar expressed it like this “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” These are very simple, yet very powerful tips that can get you started towards and/or achieving a level of success in your network marketing business. Success in network marketing for you may mean walking the beaches of the world or winning the top awards in your company. For some people it may mean being able to finally pay off a house mortgage, a car payment or finally being able to own their own home. For some it means FREEDOM!
Wrong expectations of Success in Network Marketing
It is perfectly normal to have expectations for success in a network marketing business. You would not join the business if you did not have an expectation of success in network marketing. However, many persons have wrong expectations in their approach to their network marketing business.
Some of these expectations usually include expecting:
Everyone is going to be interested.
You don’t have to be consistent in activity. (Prospecting and follow up)
You don’t need to learn the basics of this business. (It is important to understand how the business model works.)
The first month will explode. (It rarely does.)
You can recruit a few folks and they will make you rich.
You will never get frustrated or discouraged.
You will never feel like giving up.
It is important to create realistic expectations based on facts and your belief in your ability to achieve success in your business. Expectations must be combined with the appropriate actions that will lead to achieving the desired outcome of success in your network marketing business.
How long until I make money?
This is where a lot of people make their biggest mistake. They have this expectation that once they sign up for the business they will experience success in network marketing right away. The right question or expectation would be “what do I have to do to make money”.
The truth is you could put yourself in a profitable situation tomorrow or today, but it would take resources and a good deal of learning to know how to do it. This view of overnight success is created by people looking at heavy hitters and their success in the network marketing industry. Many people look at pictures on the internet beside their dream homes and their luxury cars. Are the stories and the pictures just a network marketing scam or could they be true? And if they could be yours, what is preventing you from getting a piece of that success?
The truth is, the fast way is never the FREE way. It’s either going to take you a good deal of money to put yourself in a profitable position or a good deal of education and leverage, and most of the time both to experience success in network marketing.
There is no luck factor.
In network marketing you don’t earn money until you are worthy of the income you produce. This is important to understand. In this industry you are rewarded based on what you produce. The great Earl Nightingale said “You have to be worth more than you are getting paid for your income to grow.”
In order for your income to grow you must grow. This is the natural order of all things and it’s not going to change.
You CAN create a huge amount of success in Network Marketing but not until you know how.

It’s the people that see the compensation plan and do all the research that I’ve noted above and then say to themselves that it’s only a matter of time until they max out their compensation plan that truly and always without a shadow of a doubt succeed.
Network marketing is not something that works part of the time or if you are lucky.
It always works as long as you do everything in your power to make it work.
Set a goal in your network marketing business and don’t stop until you get there. Success in network marketing requires conviction and persistent focused effort.
Do not try to reinvent the Wheel. Join a company or team that has a proven path to Success in Network Marketing , and you need to walk that path, step by step. You need to use the tools your company provides, use the trainings they provide, use the online tools they provide, and any other business building resource they offer.
If you are new to MLM, you need to understand that there is a certain experience in the industry that has proven to create Success in network marketing. Do not try and start doing your own trainings, or your own way to Success. Once you have experienced success in network marketing, and want to get creative, then go do it. But wait until you have created some success in your business, and have learned some things about network marketing.
Your organization will appreciate it as well. You using the company trainings and tools, will only help your downline grow faster. Your downline will always duplicate what you are doing in building your business. It is important to set the right example and use proven systems and tools.
Successs in Network Marketing Success is simple, and can be easy. Make sure that you create the right expectations, and understand that there is a learning curve for most people. Make sure you get off to a fast start, start doing the business NOW. Set a goal in your network marketing business and don’t stop until you get there. Use the tools and systems that have been proven to work, not ones that have yet to be tested.
Network marketing is not something that works part of the time or if you are lucky. It always works as long as you do everything in your power to make it work.
